IMSTUDIO

Terms of service

The agreement, in plain language

Effective July 24, 2026 · Last updated July 24, 2026

These terms are written to be read. They cover the IMStudio app at imstudio.app and the optional account features built on top of it.

What IMStudio is

IMStudio is a local-first image studio: the editor, its effects, and its AI tools run in your browser, on your device. An account is optional and adds cloud features such as Cloud Backup and library sync.

Your account

Accounts use Google Sign-In. You're responsible for the security of your Google account, and you agree that the information it provides to us is accurate. You must be at least 13 to use IMStudio, and old enough to form a binding contract to buy a subscription.

Your content

Everything you create in IMStudio is yours. We claim no ownership of it, and no license to it beyond the minimum needed to operate features you invoke — for example, storing a project file when you click back up, and returning it when you click restore. Content that never leaves your device is entirely outside these terms; it's simply yours.

Acceptable use

Don't use the cloud features to store or distribute content that's unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, or that was created to harm others. Don't attempt to disrupt the service or access accounts or data that aren't yours.

Free and Pro

The free tier is a complete tool, not a trial — no watermarks and no time limits. IMStudio Pro is a paid subscription (currently USD $10 per month, plus tax where applicable) that adds cloud features such as Cloud Backup and library sync. Prices for new subscriptions may change; we'll never raise the price of an active subscription without telling you first.

Billing

Purchases are made through Paddle, our merchant of record — legally, Paddle is the seller, and “PADDLE.NET” is what appears on your card statement. Subscriptions renew monthly until canceled. You can cancel anytime from the manage-subscription page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

If your subscription ends for any reason, everything on your device keeps working forever. Cloud backups pause; your backed-up projects remain downloadable for at least 90 days. This is a design principle, not fine print. A local-first tool that held your work hostage wouldn't be local-first.

Refunds

Fourteen days, no questions asked. Details on the refunds page.

Ending things

You can stop using IMStudio, or delete your account from the account menu, at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that violate the acceptable-use terms above; where practical we'll warn you first. Any action we take applies to cloud features only — nothing we do reaches into your device or your local work.

Disclaimers

IMStudio is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free — which is one reason local files and exports are always yours to keep.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims relating to IMStudio is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.

Changes

If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top and, for material changes, say so in the app before they take effect. Continued use of the account features after that point means the new terms apply.
